Currently the Pentium chip or(71), made by(72), is the most common CPU though there are many other companies that produce processors for personal computers. One example is the CPU made by Motorola which is used in Apple computers. With faster processors the clock speed becomes more important. Compared to some of the first computers which operated at below 30 megahertz((73))the Pentium chips began at 75 megahertz in the late 1990g. As of mid 2003 speeds now exceed 3000 + megahertz or 3 gigahertz(check your local computer store for the latest speed). It depends on the(74)that the chip is housed in, or the(75), as to whether you are able to upgrade to a faster chip. The motherboard contains the circuitry and connections that allow the various component to communicate with each other.

The main reason we tend to focus on the (72) rather than the human side of the work is not because it’s more (73),but because it’s easier to do.Getting the new disk drive installed is positively trivial compared to figuring out why Horace is in a blue funk(恐惧)or why Susan is dissatisfied with the company after only a few months.Human interactions are complicated and never very crisp(干脆的,干净利落的)and clean in their effects, but they matter more than any other aspect of the work.

People are indulging in an illusion whenever they find themselves explaining at a cocktail(鸡尾酒)party, say, that the are “in computers,”or“ in telecommunications,”or “in electronic funds transfer”. The implication is that they are part of the high-tech world. Just between us,they usually aren't. The researchers who made fundamental breakthroughs in those areas are in a high-tech business. The rest of us are (71)of their work. We use computers and other new technology components to develop our products or to
organize our affairs. Because we go about this work in teams and projects and other tightly knit working
group(紧密联系在一起的工作小组),we are mostly in the human communication business. Our successes stem from good human
interactions by all participants in the effort, and our failures stem from poor human interactions.

There are a number of factors, which determine the onset of smoking, and these are largely psychological and social. They include availability of cigarettes, curiosity, rebelliousness, appearing thought, anticipation of adulthood, social confidence, the example of parents and teachers, and smoking by friends and older brothers and sisters.
It should be much easier to prevent children from starting to smoke than to persuade adults to give up the habit once established, but in fact this has proved very difficult. The example set by people in authority, especially parents, health care workers, and teachers, is of prime importance. School roles should forbid smoking by children on the premises. This role has been introduced at Summerhill School where I spent my schooldays.
There is, however, a risk of children smoking just to rebel against the rules, and even in those schools which have tried to enforce no smoking by corporal punishment there is as much smoking as in other schools. Nevertheless, banning smoking is probably on balance beneficial. Teachers too should not smoke on school premises, at least not in front of children.
In this passage the author puts an emphasis on ______.
A.the effect of smoking among children
B.the difficulty in preventing children from smoking
C.the reasons why children start smoking among children
D.the measures to ban smoking among children

Schoolboys gained their skill in Latin in a bitter way. They kept in mind the rules to make learning by heart easier. They first made a word-for-word translation and then an idiomatic translation into English. As they increased their skill they translated their English back into Latin without referring to the book and then compared their translation with the original. The schoolmaster was always at hand to encourage them. All schoolmasters believed Latin should be beaten in .
After several years of study the boys began to write compositions in imitation of the Latin writers they read. And as they began to read Latin poems they began to write poems in Latin.Because Milton was already a poet at ten his poems were much better than those painfully put together by the other boys.During the seven years Milton spent at university he made regular use of his command of Latin. He wrote some excellent Latin poems which he published among his works in 1645.
